Boy's soccer keeps expectations for stellar season high

By Anne Siron

Each day the golden sun sets upon the faces of young male soccer athletes. With half the season done they are always looking forward to what they must accomplish together as a team.
The varsity season so far stands at three wins and four losses with one tie against Capital. With a full team of almost 10 returning players creates an advantage and Senior Derek Jones believes that "Even though it's been a bad season, once we get into tournament it won't matter."
Most the team believes in this philosophy and are working together to go for this goal and consider this to be where they need to put forth the most effort.
The boy's soccer team in addition hopes to make it to state this year, which hasn't happened in awhile. "I honestly think we can make it to state, but it will take a lot of hard work and perseverance," Jones added.
The team is well aware of the strength and great effort it will take to get to these goals. Some things blocking these goals are a few recent injuires. One other obstacle is a lack of support from the Bishop Kelly student body.
"Encouragement from the student body would really help get us motivated," Derek said. Take this as a suggestion, and go support the knights!
