Club Corner: History Club

By Amari Kunz

During November, also known as Turkey month, the club that shows the most Thanksgiving appreciation is History Club.
Thanksgiving is the one holiday that gets overlooked, mostly because Christmas is right around the corner, but Thanksgiving is the one holiday we should be excited for!
History Club wanted to highlight one Native American in particular: Squanto. He was a member of the Wampanoag Tribe, the tribe who helped the first pilgrims in Plymouth Rock.

Without the help of their Native friends, the Pilgrims would've died in the spring from starvation. The Native's helped them plant, and harvest many crops.
The Pilgrims gave a huge feast and invited the Indian Chief, Squanto, and many of the other tribe's people. To give Squanto a proper celebration, History Club had a celebratory "Squanto Hop" that was on Nov. 20.
It was so fun, I hope everyone made it!
History Club is also in charge of the famous "300" themed student fill the basketball game night and many other various dances.
