Nationwide search launched for new BK president; Dave Lachiondo announces his retirement at school year's end

A nationwide search for a new president of Bishop Kelly to succeed Dr. Dave Lachiondo, who has announced his retirement at school year's end, has been announced.
"Doc" Lachiondo as he is respectfully and affectionately known by students, alumni, faculty and parents alike, is retiring after 18 years at the school as principal and president.
"During this time, Dr. Lachiondo has helped guide BK through a period of dramatic change in the very fiber and fabric of the school," said Daniel Makley, superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Boise.
A search committee headed by Tim LaMott has developed a job description and is undertaking a search that includes local, regional and national outreach to identify qualified, Catholic applicants for the position.
"We are looking for a candidate with spiritual attributes combined with the vision, leadership and academic skills to help guide the Bishop Kelly organization through these very difficulty social and economic times and beyond," LaMott said. "
He or she will also need to be able to work with the financial and business entities within the community to help assure the continued financial viability of the Catholic education systems, he said.
Applications will be accepted until Dec. 18 and the search committee plans to identify candidates to recommend to the Bishop Kelly Board of Governance by the first quarter of next year.
